What is success? Success is defined by many people in many different ways. It can be having a $10 million company. Having a lovely family. Being healthy. Whichever you choose to be your definition for success, it’s imperative that you do the best you can each and every day. It’s crazy that the year is 2021 and all of the information to be successful is right in front of us, yet most people aren’t willing to do what’s necessary to make their success evolve.
By no means am I where I want to be and if you’re a go-getter, no matter what you accomplish, you’re going to always want to be accomplishing new milestones each and every day. You don’t want to become the person who’s living in the past and talks about the “glory days.”
So, here are my top 5 strategies in order to become MORE successful.
1. Work Your Ass Off.
This doesn’t mean not sleeping and neglecting your health. Working your ass off is all about consistency. Completing a little bit each and every day is a secret to success. Everyone wants to take a magic pill to lose weight. Everyone wants to have a million dollars deposited into their bank account. Life doesn’t work that way. Unless you win the lottery.
In reality, you have a better chance of creating $100 million worth of wealth than winning it via the lottery. Think about that!
2. Post to Social Media Every Day.
Until I started my own business, I rarely posted to social media. I didn’t see any value in sharing my life with “Random People on the Internet.” Now, that I’m in the thick of creating a successful brand, it’s vital to being successful to share your vision with the world. And social media is the easiest way to do so.
Remember, as long as your being genuine and not looking to trick people into buying from you, your social media journey will be easier than if you’re constantly putting on a show. Plus, becoming comfortable in front of camera, making yourself vulnerable to the world, is a high-income skill that will pay you dividends in the future.
3. Do What You Love.
When it comes down to being able to leave your corporate job in order to pursue your passions, it’s going to be a hard taste of reality. There will be times you won’t see any sort of monetary return and you may even begin to question your decision. This is why doing what you love is so important because even if you’re not getting paid, your passion will propel you forward.
4. Stop Wishing.
Without taking action, you’re merely wishing to become a success. Luck is the residue of hard work, not wishing on a shooting star. Every day you need to be taking the necessary steps to get you closer to your goal. I believe it was Martin Luther King Jr who said,
“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.”
5. Know Thyself.
If you are Michael Jordan and playing baseball, you will be mediocre. If your Michael Jordan and you’re playing basketball, you’re a superstar. You got to know yourself and ensure you’re putting yourself in the right position to be successful. We can’t be good at everything, it’s impossible. But what’s possible is to find what you’re better at than most people, and give yourself an unfair advantage.
