Social Media Isn’t Real

Social media portrays, what it is to be a successful entrepreneur nowadays is like watching a movie that goes straight to the happy ending. It isn’t real. And what isn’t real, isn’t achievable. So, how come the population is being fed all of these lies?

Well, it’s because most people don’t want to put in the hard work to become successful. Why go to the gym when you can a magic pill to obtain those six pack abs? If it were that easy, there wouldn’t be millions of Americans who are obese.

So, when it comes to being an entrepreneur, the reality is that it’s not as glamorous as you’d think.

You’re not going to be buying fancy cars, mansions, Rolex watches, well at least not at first. You will have to make sacrifices, sell personal items, and do what the 99% aren’t doing each and every day.

Basically, you’re going to do the opposite of everyone else is doing, which is known as being “contrarian.” Not floating the mainstream is the only way to live a life that other people dream about. It’s about giving up what you want today for what you want in the future.

It isn’t easy and with social media being thrown at you every single day it makes the daily temptations of wanting to buy that new car or buy a fancy home more and more desirable. Despite what social media shows you, what you really need to do is to look yourself in the mirror. Look yourself in your eyes and ask yourself,

“What do I really want out of life?”

You got to dig deep and look inside your soul to figure out what it is that you want out of your time here on earth. Is it time freedom? Is it a lot of money? Is it love? No matter what it is regardless of how silly it may seem to other people. Who cares?

This is YOUR life. Not your parents. Not your coworkers. Not your friends. YOURS and only yours. So, you might as well do what makes you happy, regardless of how absurd it is. People will call you crazy. Tell you that it’s stupid for you to want to go in that direction. But the fact of the matter is, it’s not their life, it’s yours.

That’s most of our problem is caring too much what other people think of us.

In my opinion, the greatest superpower you can achieve is not caring what other people think. Because when you stop caring about what other people think, you can live the life that is most genuine to who you really are.

The moral of the story is this. Take risks, be weird, and don’t be scared to be who you really are.
